Hidden in a car park in deepest darkest Walthamstow you will find God’s Own Junkyard. A wacky warehouse filled from floor to ceiling with the brightest, blingest neon signs around.
North East neon paradise, God’s Own Junkyard is a psychedelic nirvana, a shimmering Aladdin’s cave of new and salvaged retro neon signage.
Religious iconography, disco balls and shimmering film props hang from the ceiling and festoon every available surface.
Artist and lighting designer Chris Bracey was the driving force behind this rainbow-hued haven and his incredible collection has been built over 37 years. His assortment has supplied endless wonderment to the film industry, artists and celebrities and a recent Vogue photoshoot made this a must-see London destination.
And when you have seen enough neon to last you a lifetime, head over to the brilliantly named Mother’s Ruin Gin Palace for a cold one.
